Chidinma, 25, is an ikorodu born singer-songwriter, recording artist and stage performer,who rose to stardom after winning the third season of Mtn Project Fame West Africa.
It was a platform for more success, and the small in stature singer knew just that, as she subsequently released hit songs like “Emi Ni Baller”, “Kedike” and “Jankoliko”, among others.
Infact, the song “Emi Ni Baller” earned her a mouth-watering acclaim as the first female musician to peak at number 1 on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart.
In that same year, 2012, she won the Best Female West African Act in the Kora Awards.
2016? the table has turned, however. Chidinma has gone AWOL. Infact, the only thing we remember of her was the false accusation that she was in a viral s*x tape.
Will she make a comeback and release a song this year? We dont know but we do hope.
Yet, what we know is, Chidinma set a gigantic precedent for an upcoming musician, and she must work really hard to continue on that path to stay relevant in the competitive Nigerian music world.
